Code of Conduct

Aims
The House 9 Foundation Inc's Code of Conduct is a set of guiding principles that team members must follow consistently. The Code sets the standard for how we work and provides an overview of what’s expected of us in our roles with the Foundation, ensuring that the House 9 Foundation Inc. fulfills its mission and pursues its vision. This Code should be read with the Foundation’s mission in mind and with the understanding that they are an integral part of all the Foundation’s policies and Constitution.
This Code of Conduct applies to everyone at the House 9 Foundati
on Inc., including all employees, contractors, and volunteers (team members). The Code of Conduct applies to all aspects of our work.

Expectations of Team Members

1. Engage respectfully 
Engage respectfully with fellow Members and Independent Contractors, customers, members of the public, and other stakeholders of the Foundation. In particular, you must not discriminate against, harass, or bully any person at work or performing work duties, at work-related events, or otherwise in connection with your work with the Foundation.

2. Act with Integrity
Act with integrity performing your role and associating yourself with the Foundation. This includes treating people fairly and communicating honestly, as well as only holding yourself out to represent the Foundation while performing your duties for the Foundation.

3. Confidentiality of Information
Members and Independent Contractors owe a duty of loyalty to the Foundation. This duty of loyalty requires each member and Independent Contractor to respect the confidentiality of information gained in the course of their activities concerning the Foundation, maintain the confidentiality of information relating to the Foundation. This includes not publicly talking about or representing the Foundation, its purpose, operations, or its people unless expressly authorized by the Foundation’s Board, whether through traditional or social media.

4. Legal Compliance
It is the policy of the Foundation to comply fully with, and to require its Members and Independent Contractors to comply fully with, all laws, Constitution, rules, regulations, orders, and judgments of governmental agencies or authorities, courts, and administrative bodies that apply to the affairs of the Foundation.

5. Compliance with Policies and Guidelines
It is the responsibility of each Member, employee, and Independent Contractor to be familiar with the mission, vision, and beliefs of the Foundation and to read and comply with policies adopted from time to time by the Board of Directors, including, but not limited to, the Conflict of Interest Policy. The Foundation fulfills its mission primarily through grantmaking. Members and employees acknowledge the importance of the grantmaking function and agree to adhere to all grantmaking guidelines approved by the Board of Directors in connection with making grants.

6. Political Activities
Every member or Independent Contractor shall not become actively involved in any political campaign or any other type of political activity, provide financial support, make contributions for the benefit of any political candidate, party, or action committee, or provide financial support for any other political objective.

7. Waivers of the Code of Conduct
The Board of Directors may only grant waivers of this Code of Conduct for particular actions or circumstances.

8. Compliance with the Code of Conduct
Each Member, employee, and Independent Contractor of the Foundation shall receive a copy of this Code of Conduct and certify that they have read it and agree to comply with all standards and requirements set forth herein.
